Away from the modern hotels, Las Vegas has made a huge effort to attract tourists back to the old “Downtown” area where you’ll find hotels like the Golden Nugget. All the streets here are closed off and they’ve constructed a roof on which light and picture shows are shown. You’ll also see some of the old neon signs dotted around as exhibits in the Las Vegas Neon Museum. To get downtown, hop on the busses that run up and down the strip or for a quicker journey, hail a cab. This is an extract from our free LAS VEGAS CITY GUIDE.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THE FREMONT STREET EXPERIENCE
Each picture show is usually different to the one before and you can see which shows are scheduled each day on the official website (link below). The roof is made up of 12.5 million LEDs which according to the organisers makes it “the biggest big screen on the planet”! In addition, it’s common to find live entertaiment on Fremont Street like bands, singers and magic shows. We enjoyed the Fremont Street Experience so much that we’ve made it our “top tip” in our Las Vegas City Guide.
