You need to allow plenty of time for your visit as there is so much to see, but its well worth it. Venice Beach and canals are also good. The beach is featured in many films with its open air gyms and loads of stalls with a huge variety of things for sale. The canals (possibly how it gets the name Venice!?) are a bit away from the beach but have lots of birds to see and are flanked by some beautiful houses.
