City Hall

Copenhagen City Hall offers superb views of the city from the top of its tower. Tower tours take place regularly and although there is no lift and climbing the stairs is hard work, you are rewarded when you get to the top. This attractive building itself has other attractions too though. If you want to experience a feeling of calm, right in the centre of bustling Copenhagen, then head to the lovely garden in the centre of the building, which can be accessed directly from outside via an archway on the side opposite Tivoli Gardens.

City Hall is free to enter the public areas and we enjoyed wandering through the grand corridors and looking at the impressive central hall (pictured below). Also, it’s worth paying a visit to the Astronomical Clock, which is housed in a special room just inside the foyer. You can see it in action for a small fee. One final highlight at Copenhagen City Hall is the statue of Hans Christian Anderson outside.
